Christina Annable, wife of our brother Stephen Annable, of Winchester, was born in Osnabruck, near Aultsville, in the year 1828, and was therefore, at the time of her death, February 5th, 1905, about seventy-seven years of age. She was the daughter of Andrew D. Summers, who moved to Winchester in 1830 and was the third settler in the western part of the township. Our sister was converted to God in her fourteeth year, under the ministry of the Rev. B. Nancekivell. She at once united with the Methodist church, and retained her membership unbroken until her death. She was married to Bro. Annable in Aug. 1847, and for nearly fifty-eight years shared his lot. She was a most devoted wife, a faithful mother, a consistent Christian. Indeed, she adorned every relationship of life because of her loyalty to Christ and the church. She was the mother of nine children, four of whom preceded her to the better land. The remaining five are endeavoring to follow her as she followed Christ, and are looking for a happy reunion in heaven. For some time before her death she was unable, through failing health, to attend God's house, but though absent in body, was always present in spirit, and never lost her interest in the services of the sanctuary. She was greatly pleased whenever her pastor visited her, and the reading of the Scripture and prayer were to her an exceeding joy.
