• Her obituary was published in the Winchester Press on 29 Jan 1931 in Winchester, Dundas, Ontario, Canada. It read as follows:

Mrs. George Elliott, whose death occurred Sunday morning last, after a few days illness, removes from the highly respected residence of Winchester, one who had spent nearly the whole of her life in the community, and whose kindly christian disposition and gentle ways had won for her the deep affection of all who had the pleasure of her intimate acquaintance.

Mrs. Elliott was in her 76th year, and for the past few years had suffered some from heart trouble. Her death came without warning, and as a great shock to her family. Since the death of her husband some fourteen years ago, Mrs. Elliott and her daughter, Miss Norah, have lived together. Besides Miss Norah, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. J. A. McDougall and one son, Mr. Rowat Elliott, both of Winchester, two sisters Mrs. A. Shaver, of Montreal, and Mrs. J. Kerr, of Riverhurst, Sask.

The funeral service was held in the United Church at two o'clock on Tuesday afternoon and the large assembly of friends testified to the high esteem in which Mrs. Elliott was held. Her minister, Rev. J. A. Waddell, conducted the service and was assisted by Rev. W. D. Turner of St. Paul's Church. Previous to her death, Mrs. Elliott had chosen text to be used on the occasion of her passing away, this message being found in Ecclesiates 12:1, "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth." In paying tribute to her memory, Mr. Waddell referred to her life long connection with the Church, her sunny disposition, her interest in the life of the young, and her sympathy for all that tended to the community's betterment.

The following old friends and neighbors acted as pall bearers: Dr. P. McLaughlin, Messrs. T. A. Scott, Henry Smith, H. L. Hughes, Gearoge Earle and Lemuel A. Ellis.

The members of the Women's Missionary Society of which deceased was a life member, attended the service in a body.
